I priced the interior panels and they're 166 a piece, so obviously I would just fab them myself out of a sheet of 5/16" plate I have around.

Is it worth 250?
 
Looks nice. Ask them for a picture of the back to make sure there are no cracks in the exterior. If it's ok, seems a fair price. If you make your own plates, be sure they meet the top plate tightly so that the smoke path remains controlled the way they designed it to be.

Also, just curious, I don't know how the interior plates of the Morso intall, but if they are like the Jotul 602, they sit in a channel and are held captive by the upper plate. If so, will a free floating 5/16" plate resist warping in a firebox?
