I was going to put it inside my fire place and brick it in as my fireplace box is to small to have fire without it getting smoke in room
Is the fireplace tall enough so that the flue damper will still be accessible?

You would need to run a liner through your chimney for it. What do you mean your firebox is to small to have a fire in it without smoke coming into the room? Small fireboxes can work very well that is not the issue. Can you describe your setup and problems a bit?
