Just wondering if anyone can advise as to how to remove the back side panel on an Integra to clean out the rear ash chamber? The stove will not light, and I just want to make sure that ash is not the problem before I call a servicer, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, :cheese:

Back side panel? My Integra does not have a "side" panel. To access the heat exchanger tubes you need to remove back panels, made of cast Iron (?) Mine has a Top and Bottom. Three bolts on the bottom (left,middle and right) and 2 at the top (left and right). Bottom panel comes out first, then the top
When removing them be careful as on the inside of the panels there is insulation, mine looks like styrofoam and can be very "brittle" and flake off pretty easily.
Do you have built cleaning rods for removing ash from tubes? pull up and down a few times, if you hear a "metallic"type sound when rod goes to the bottom then your tubes are ok, if the sound is more of a "dull" sound you have a build up of ash and needs cleaning.
Is yours a newer model? like within the last couple of years?
Do you have a manual? Is it an Insert or freestanding??

Are you sure thats the problem? Does the self ignitor glow when its going through a startup cycle? You should see it glowing in the burn pot. If you want access to the cleanout its tricky to gain access. The whole top cast piece must be loosened to be able to clear the lip on decorative side panels.If you open the hopper - there are 2 self tapping screws inside torward the front of the unit that hold the side panel. Remove these being careful not to drop them into the auger. You need to also loosen the screws on the opposite side panel. Then underneath the hopper door along the backedge of the cast top piece are two screws that must also be removed (one is near the hopper door microswitch). Be careful these are really finethreaded screws and are a pain to remove and reinsert. They thread up from the bottom of the hopper container into the bottom of the cast top. Then out front the very top of the grey heat exchanger grill there are 2 screws on the horizonatal grill where it angles toward the sides - accessable from either side of the stove. I think they are 7/16 - you will need a long extension on a socket and ratchet. You dont need to remove these , only loosen them. The cast piece on top should then be loose enough to raise up and let the panel clear. Be carefull ad the controller keypad is attached to the side panel along with a ground wire. There should be enough slack in the cable to lean the panel against the stove. If you follow the air intake tube you will see a cover with a large thumbscrew - this is the cleanout. There maybe an easier way to do this - but thats the only way I could figure how to do it.
