I am going to be insulating my liner tomorrow with loose fill perlite. I've been working on blocking off the bottom of the liner with a piece of sheetmetal and stuffing a ton of firewool up there. My question is how should i pour it in to the chimney from up above? is there some kind of funnel or tube i should pour it into. i was also thinking of using some kind of scooper to just scoop it in. any ideas would be great thank you.

We generally stuff some insulation in the liner - IF it's close to the working area -
to keep the product in the flue tiles/chimney & use 5 gallon plastic pails to carry
the product up the ladder.
We dump it in & the agitate (shake) the liner, in order to pack the product down...

do you just use the five gallon bucket to dump it in there?

Yep. Our product comes in bags & a 5-gallon bucket with a handle on it is a heck
of a lot easier to handle up on a big ladder than a bag is...

Alrighty sounds good. yeah the stuff i got is in bags as well. i can carry the bags up to the roof easily i have like a 2- 12 pitch roof below my chimney so ill dump into the buckets on the roof.

well everything went pretty good. seem to go down easy just shook the like like crazy and kept packing it. i took some pics of where i had to block off on the bottom. what a pita to get up in there.. but im hoping everything is in there good. My new blaze king should arrive end of next week so wanted to get this all done. now i just need to get the double smoke pipe..

heres the fun
