I have to replace igniter on my harman advance. When I pulled it out discovered wires to back had burned off. Had to pull them out from back.
Need to splice in new wires.
Can anyone tell me what size these wires are. Also how hard is it to thread wires to front.
Thanks

I don't know the stock gauge for the wires, but I think my Harman igniter is 306 watts. That's less than 3 amps, so 14 gauge wire should be plenty. 14 gauge is good up to 15 amps. I don't think feeding the wire should be too difficult, but I'd try to see why the old ones burned off. There shouldn't be anything hot enough behind the stove. The wires on the igniter have heat shielded insulation and are pulled back through the opening. I wonder if the connectors were pulled to far in close to the burn pot?

Thanks for your reply. The wires burnt off at burnout end. They must have been pulled out too far.
Got the wire and butt splice connectors.
Going to attempt a fix today. Hoping wires will thread from front to back with no problem.
Went all last winter on manual.
Course I procrastinated, should have done this in spring or at least summer.
