Is the igniter staying on after stove starts?
Cheap ebay rods? are you running off a thermostat and have the unit set to shut down when the room makes it up to temp? Should not eat that many rods even on that setting, i usually get a season or 2 out of them. Usually when they go i put off changing them out and use fire starter since its such a PIA to change
