Howdy all and thanks in advance for any advice. I’m a musher in AK and built a new dog yard for the pups at our new home. We live on a steep hill and had our first cold snap since putting in the new dog yard downhill of the house. Found out when it’s cold (or maybe windy, pressure rising, etc.) the smoke from our chimney cap wafts downhill right into the dog yard. Looking to see if maybe a directional chimney cap or other ideas might help with redirection of the smoke. It’s not an all-the-time issue but even if occasional it’s discerning to have the smoke going towards the dogs (even if it’s diffuse). Any kind of band-aid would almost certainly be easier than relocating the dog yard! Would love to hear your thoughts, Thanks again

That could be a challenge especially with natural cold air sinking off the hill. A taller flue may help, maybe. The solution may be to burn in the cleanest, most smoke-free stove and manner possible.
