I want to make boi bricks, used equiptment?

I'm interested in making bio bricks.

the only machines I can seem to find are in china

are there any sites selling used briquette presses? Doesn't seem like much equipment is needed VS making pellets

My Hardwood flooring operation generates about 40 tones of KD hardwood sawdust every 2 weeks, We currently sell it to pellet manufactures for about 15 bucks a ton.

Being that there are only a handful of MFGs that even make the things, I doubt if there is a large "used" market available.

It does sound like you are in a nice position to do something like this though. Good luck with your new endeavor.

There is limited used equipment out there.
I looked into it once. Got sidetracked and put the idea to rest. I did find a good cheap briquetter. Can't remember where.
You're getting hosed on kiln dried raw product. You should be getting minimum $40/ton picked up if your product is good spec.
Not long ago mills were paying $100/ton for kiln dried.

We mill up to 12", (mostly the stuff we can't buy from a big mill) We're in Crystal Lake

So its all mixed wood - like a variety of woods like OAK and Hickory and Poplar and Maple all mixed together into one location. How do you ocllect 40 tons???
Doesnt exactly fit into a TRACTOR TRAILER? do you have a compactor?

We mill Oak, Maple, Hickory, Braz. Cherry, Walnut, Cumaru,

Whatever the customer wants really.

Our dust collection system blows the stuff into van trailers... We can fill one in a week or so....

There's a cabinet maker that has posted here about using his sawdust to heat his shop. He bought a machine to compress the dust. Search around and you'll find him.

make a good product and let me buy direct and you've got yourself at least one customer. I'm up past your area several times in a year to visit in-laws.

Honarbale Lee - in Illinois there is no demand for bio bricks and Jake's business should be glad he's getting $15/ton - as the closest large pellet mfgr is in Northern Wis or Central IN -

have you spoken to a consultant ? You may want to speak to an outside party before you spend the money on a new briquetter or used equipment. You can sell it anyway you want Im not saying there is a market or isnt a market I am just saying you should take a serious look at the market before you go and buy equipment based on what you think.
