Hey all,

I have a small 12ftx32 ft cabin in Upstate NY. It has very high ceilings (11ft) and one part of it has an uninsulated floor and the walls are just 2x4 so again.. not very good insulation. It has many windows as well...My current stove is 14yr old. A discontinued englander 17 vl. It is small 20" wide by 30 inch tall by 12" deep. 44k btu rating and it is supposed to heat 500-1200 sqft. I started a thread on maybe upgrading my stove but a cheaper and easier route might be to just get a pellet stove.

Since I have limited space I am looking for something that takes less room. These two are small but the pelpro has a much bigger pellet capacity which.. might not be so important to me since this is a weekend cabin. As long as it can burn the whole night even on higher temp then I am fine with the smaller capacity.

Any reason to go with one over the other? Any similar ones to consider?

I am leaning toward the Alpine.. it seems to have a newer igniter (faster start?), ability to connect remote thermostat if I want, smart cleaning of vents thing that I like, removable ash box, it is a little smaller, and it has remote.

I also don't mind spending a little more and getting something better than these..

Any tips/rec will be appreciated. Never owned one of these before..
