I have been a long time lurker here and have learned quite a bit. I made the plunge this summer and had a regency insert I3100 installed. My question is should I just leave the blower on automatic or what? I haven't notice much smoke coming out of the chimney while leaving the blower on automatic once I have good bed of coals, ( when the thermostat hits 350 degree F it kicks on) The 4 times I have used it so far it heats the house quite nicely. ANy input is welcome.

When I burned my I3100L, I ALWAYS left the blower switch to "auto."
The nice thing, for me anyways, was that it was an indicator of heat in the middle of the night.
If I woke up & could hear the blower, I knew that I could roll over & snooze.
If I DIDN'T hear it, I knew I hadda scurry downstairs & add some splits to the fire box, before
the coals went out...
Your call, I guess...

I like the use of the auto feature on the Regency inserts. Daksy, you wouldnt have to add wood in the middle of the night if you just wedge a big ole all nighter round log in there and stuffed the splits around it! emirite?

Yessirreesir!

If its taking too long for your insert to kick on with auto wait until it cools and make sure the snap disc is making contact with the stove...common problem to be a little away from the stove...

I always leave mine on auto also. High or lo, depends on the outside temp. I usually load with oak/hickory around 10pm, and the thing is still blowing nice and hot when I'm up at 5:30. Enjoy the insert and welcome to the forum.
