How much could I stack in a Radio Flyer Wheelbarrow?

I realize it's not a commercial grade wheelbarrow, but I will only be hauling the wood a short distance from my woodshed to my wood stove and the wood is not that heavy because it is fully seasoned, still, I don't want to have any issues with overloading the frame or stopping distances.
I have been searching the net and have been unable to find any information on payload specs or any aftermarket overload shocks or suspension reinforcement systems for this model.
I think in this case a trailer would not be a feasible option, but then I'm no expert.

I think it will hold all the weight of firewood that the volume of the bucket allows. In other words, stack it as full as you can, and I bet you are still fine. My similar, non-comercial grade wheelbarrow will carry all the green rounds I can pile in it.

As for how much, I think about 30 splits are likely to fit without too many falling out while you are moving.

If you're seriously inquiring:
I have about the same wheelbarrow. It will haul whatever firewood you can get into it without fear of overloading. The firewood starts falling out before that happens (same as an S10 pickup).

If you're not serious:
Ha ha! I wouldn't want to haul a V8 Chevy engine block in it. Might crack one of the handles. It would be fun to see how well it balanced though.

if those are the specs, then i'd say about 2 cords of green oak.

I mean, i can stop on a dime with an empty one of those, that's about 60 yards shorter than an empty F350. Which would you rather be hit by? Me with 2 cords of wood on a wheelbarrow, or a properly loaded F350?

This is a starter load, not the full 3 ANSI cord she's rated for.

I would put on some rubber bushings to increase the capacity. You can haul a lot more then. Just be cautious if a squirel were to run out in front of you while pulling it. Stopping distance is increased with a load on it Oh, and I agree with the pine info, that stuff can be deadly!

I once fit a cord of wood I got off of Cl into one of those, but it was dark when he dropped it off so so I didn't realize he meant "face cord".

You all may think this is funny but I did haul dozens of wheelbarrow loads from my woods to the woodpile. I tried to get 20 pieces per load, mostly 2-3" rounds. These were from ice-storm damaged trees. The longest distance I hauled was about 60 yards. More importantly it was all downhill. My atv took a direct hit from a branch that busted the choke switch. It was stuck in my yard for a couple weeks.

I SERIOUSLY needed a laugh today, and well . . .

I think we've derived a new formula . . .

1 cord = 3 face cord (apparently irrespective of the length of the rounds )

.92 face cord unsplit = 1 face cord split :roll:

1 FELCord = 1/4 cord

1FELCord = 3 days heat

1 WheelBarrowCord = 1 days heat, thus . . .

1 WheelBarrow Cord = 0.07667 cord (unsplit)

But of course, you'd have to factor in the handles . . . say every 6th load of green Oak one handle breaks. You then could stack the handle with the rest of the wood.

I belive that is proposition 65. This product contains a chemical known to the state of california to burn houses down. Wash hands after handling, prior to eating, smoking, etc......and always dispose of in accordance with local laws. (only in outdoor fire pits)

In Virginia I used to load a single oak round into a similar wheelbarrow. These were big heavy fresh cut SOBs that took two men and a boy to lift in to the wheelbarrow and get rolling. Once on some bumpy terrain I lost my balance and lost the load. The oak round was so heavy it snapped the handle when the whole mess hit the ground. So there you go. Your wheelbarrow can hold either a face cord or one big-*ss round. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks for all the input, you helped me realize that model radio flyer wasn't up to the job.
I liked stee6043's wagon radio flyer wood carrying idea because it can hold a lot more, so I went out and got myself one, only bigger. I had some friends help me haul it home today.
