Just wondering how many stoves were put in this year? Hearth members only... so if you're an installer don't include the 15 stoves you put in this year. Unless putting one in your own home.

This can also include folks who changed out a stove and put in a different unit.

Changed out a prefab fireplace for a BIS Ultima.

mine was installed in Sept by a dealer

I installed an Osburn 2200i insert in November.

A more interesting question, and maybe more significant, would be "How many new stoves were installed in North America this year compared to years past?"

Then, rather than a one year 'snapshot', a trend can be seen; more, less, about the same.

Then another question, "Why?", could follow. Now you've got somethin' to chew on!

Just my thoughts on this low 40ish rainey New Year's eve...

Aye,
Marty

Marty, I'm not interested in trends in North America. There's probably some statistic on that anyway. My interest was relating to the forum and how many members installed new stoves. Next year maybe I'll ask the same question, and then some comparative analysis can be done, lol.

Three.

I've put a stove in this year too (sick of paying for oil).. Jotul Castine... this forum was very helpful to me

Alright Marty and Dylan, you're certainly entitled to your opinions. I'm not going to engage in a petty dispute over the usefulness of the thread. I'm the first to admit the topic is quite useless; so are many threads on the forum. So what.

Here's some information just for you two: (broken link removed to http://www.epa.gov/woodstoves/Documents/Candidate/Woodstove_Sources.pdf)

Me - last March. One of the better investments in the house we have made! Wife loves it.

I installed a Jotul Oslo this summer. She's cooking away now. The outside temperature here on the seacoast of NH is 20 degrees. Inside the temperature is 75 in the room the stove is in, according to the wall-mounted thermostat. In the room farthest from the stove, the temperature is 67 degrees. Upstairs is around 70.

Happy New Year and thanks to all who have contributed to this wonderful forum!

Since it's still 2006, barely, maybe I count. Last Feb, I installed Woodstock Fireview. Love it, gas furnace never comes on.

Installed my Jamestown, got 1/2 way through the Avalon. Should have it done this season if only to test it out. JT is doing the job.

Pellet/Corn burner in the new workshop. Newer company, not sure what brand it is. I do know that it works well and was well priced. Craig what did you install?
