It seems like my P23 eats pellets much faster than it should. Anything over low feed rate and it seems like I go through pellets like crazy. My manual has feed rates that seem conservative. How many pounds of pellets a day have you been burning?

Yesterday and today was very cold in New Hampshire and I burned about 45 pounds in 27 hours with stove set to room temp 71-73 degrees..
I live in upstate NY, and lately I burn about a bag a day (40 lbs). Last winter, when it was coldest I burned 2 to 2.5 bags a day. I keep the house cool, though I live in a drafty and uninsulated house.
A bag a day keeps Opec away! Averaging about 3/4 bag a day (16 hours burn time) here in Cow hampshire but I am sure it will increase.
Since the beginning of Oct a max of 1/2 bag per day. I have a 2100 sf contemporary cape (25 yr old) that's fairly well insulated, new windows, etc. Stove is in the living room which has a cathedral ceiling to the 2nd floor. The second floor room above the living room has the chimney going up one wall with 1/2 walls overlooking the living room below and a bedroom on either end (3rd bedroom on the 1st floor along with a kitchen, DR, family room).
I keep the house at 70 from 4pm-10pm, 58 from 10pm-4:30am, 70 from 4:30am-8am, and then 58 again until 4pm. Oil furnace thermostat is next to the pellet stove's thermostat and set for 55 (in the event the stove runs out of pellets). So, it's toasty 9 1/2 hrs a day and cool the other 14 1/2. The 2nd floor rooms tend to run 6-8 degrees warmer than the 1st floor.
We've had weather ranging from cold (teens at night, 30s in the day) to unseasonably warm (40s at night, 60s in the day) about evenly split over the past 6 weeks.

My mt Vernon AE it seem I burn less pellets on manual mode than automatic. Auto takes longer to reach the desired temperature. When it get there it is not as hot so the the fan does not run as long after the stove cuts off. This is observered behavior. I have not actual measured pellet usage compared to temperature.
29 bags since early Oct. So 35-45lbs a day so far. I'm sure that will increase. Mine gets hungry at times.
I throw 2 bags in every night about 10 before I go to bed. I live in a cape with good insulation and crap windows. The house is about 75 degrees
I have a Breckwell Big-E. My house is 2400 ft^2. I burn just over a bag a day, because I burn about 7 bags every 6 days.

On a cold day I am sure I could burn 2 bags a day and the house would be warm.... That's $12/day. Not exactly cheap!... Oh well I will just wait for pellets to come down before I buy more.

Less than a bag a day so far but I'm sure that will increase some now that the daytime temps will be in the upper 30's for the next few days. We'll see how it goes.

so far my CB Maxim pellet boiler has used about a bag a day, the hopper holds 11 bags so this is just figured off of what it took to refill the hopper. I keep my house at 60 at night and 65 during the day, I have about 2000 square feet and pretty good insulation and windows.
Up until today I've been going through 1/2 a bag a day when the stove is running 24/7. I think I've used about 11 bags so far this season. With that said, I did turn the stove up last night and expect to use more pellets throughout this week as the temps have really dropped off outside. This is running the Harman, the Englander eats a lot more pellets so I haven't been using it.
OTOH, even though I bought my pellets at $205 delivered, it would appear that it's significantly cheaper for me to run my NG central heating system than it is for me to burn pellets. I've only used pellets up to this point, but after this weekend I think I might just kick on the central heat and possibly just run the pellet stove on low burn when we are in that part of the house. I know NG wont always be as cheap as it is today, so I'll probably be better of saving the pellets for a rainy day...

Most days only a bag a day. When it gets below 25 or so we burn maybe bag and a half with the stove setting on high and medium.

I burn about 2 - 2.5 bags a day once winter sets in. It runs 24/7 come dec and january. the house is old and drafty. Its still cheaper than using our 35 year old oil burning furnace.
Last year's seasonal average was 1.3 bags per day. Fewer in the beginning and the end of the season and more in the middle.
