Wasn’t sure what to name this thread, I have a large dog that goes in and out of the house mostly when he wants to, and on rainy days like today he shakes off like they all do(I have yet to figure out how to train him to do this before he comes in the house) and today he happened to be standing a few feet from the stove flinging water all over it, I think this is the first time this has happened (he seemed confused by the sizzling noise) and it got me thinking about wether the water droplets could cause the hot glass to crack?

It will not

Years ago there was a demo of ice being placed up against hot ceramic glass to prove it's stability.

It takes one helluva lot to crack the glass.

Replaced mine on the PE once, still haven't figured out how it happened, but it did.

Old man Sam looks just like my Girl Ena did.. I miss her very much.

that makes me feel a lot better about it, thanks, the thought of having a big fire going and the glass breaking seems like a bad time

The primary cause of stove glass breakage seems to be when a too long split is loaded and it hits the door on closure. The second cause is overtightening of the door glass brackets.

The 3rd would be wife hits it with the metal poker when trying to adjust splits with the door not open far enough.
This happen to you?

Yup when i was away in Utah.
She had already ordered, and had delivered, the replacement glass by the time i got home.
That was when we burned with the jotul 3.

The glass for the f400 is Much more expensive so hope that was a 1 time event.
