We used to zipscrew a 2" wide aluminum strip around the entire OD at the end of the liner & then zipscrewed another strip,
1" wide, perpendicular to the first one. That formed a u-shaped handle that we could tie our rope to.
We then pulled the rope to get the liner down the chimney.
 
Use plummers metal strap, the stuff with multiple holes in it. Use sheet metal screws and screw it to the end of the pipe and then tie a rope to that. Take you less than a couple minutes if you have the stuff.
 
If it is light wall liner you will not be able to put much force on that strap if it is only held in place with screws.
 
That's why we made a ring first & then screwed the strap to that. Never tore the liner..
Yeah that should work. It would also be a good idea to put a piece of metal inside the liner to to give the screws more to hold on. We always back up our rivets with washers on light wall so they don't pull through.
