I just got this saddle tee in the mail. I was going to use it to tap into a baseboard line so I wouldn't have to drain the zones to install some vents. Turned out I did drain the zones, and I abandoned the concept anyway.
Be that as it may, it looks to be high quality and the gasket was stated to be nitrile so it's heat resistant. It's purpose is to put in a small expansion tank without cutting pipe, so there is a 3/4" female fitting. Included is an Allen wrench for the bolts.
It's just so much better than the saddle valves you see for ice makers, etc.
