I need some help with the woodstove.
I cannot find ANY information or replacement parts. The chimney sweeps were just here this morning to inspect and clean the chimney..
we could not find a UL plate on this thing ANYWHERE. From what I can gather, from only this website, is that it was made in the 70s. I found a model # on a forum here thay looked exactly like the one i have , but not sure !
Can anyone answer my questions ??? As of now I need to purchase a blower motor and thermostat, but cannot find the model information I have. Thanks in advance !!

Yes, this looks like a 70's model. Is it attached to a stainless liner or just vented into the fireplace cavity? If the latter, that is no longer permitted.

The odds of finding an original replacement fan is slim, but there may be a good generic substitute. Remove the blower, clean it out and if possible lubricate the motor. Sometimes that is all they need. Also, make sure that the blower motor is the issue. Sometimes it is the power switch or speed control if there is one.

I do believe it was vented into the cavity- two large square vents on back area... the cavity is lined with metal. Cannot recall anything else about the exits... should the chimney sweep have informed me of that ?
He said that everything was properly installed and in good order as far as the chimney and stove went, structurally.
I appreciate your information ! Do you have any ideas how I might find after market parts for this model ?
And thys a great idea, i will work this evening to clean the motors and oil them and see if that helps. Any other information would be appreciated! I don't want to get a new stove- I have a soft spot for older things like this- and would love to just maintain this one if possible.

Yes, the sweep should have mentioned that. It was common for early inserts during the 70s but no longer is code. The common name for this style install is a slammer. Unfortunately, converting this type of flue outlet to a connect with a stainless steel liner is not easy.

The best thing for the blower system is to clean it out completely, then diagonose where the failure is occuring, the motor, the switch, or the speed control if there is one. One other item that may be present is a heat-sensing thermostatic snap disc switch. If present, this turns on the fan once the stove body has heated up. If there is one present, it's a common service item and inexpensive to replace.

Wonderful information ! Thanks so much.
I called and asked the sweep, and referred back to my living room camera, that it is infact hooked to the chimney, so nothing is just blowing into the cavity.
The house was built in 1990 and was originally fitted for a propane stove.. the whole house was later switched to electric and woodburning stove.
I will update back to this thread after we maintenance the motors and check the switch, just in case others need some more information on the subject- also will inform if we found any parts that will or do not this model. Still would love to have a manual, if there is one at all and some more specific information. I'll keep searching for any information about this insert.
Thanks again !!
