We bought our house a few years ago and it had this old wood stove in it. It works great. I'm not a wood stove expert but I've not seen many like this with the ceramic looking tiles surrounding the stove. Did some searching online and can't find who made it. The only markings are on the door (see pics) it has "FK 1979" on it.

I especially like the slide out ash tray it has. Just curious if anyone had in info on this type of stove or who made it. Thanks.

Awesome thanks, I'm evidently worse at searching than I thought. Can you point me to this info? Even searching "Franklin FK 1979" can't find another pic of one. Thanks again.

I just googled "wood stove FK 1979.

@begreen our resident stove guy. begreen is fantastic at identifying most stoves. Especially the odd ones.

I don't know much about the makers of these stoves. We see them pop up once in a while. They are small kachelofen stoves with a lot of ceramic mass surrounding the firebox. Look around to see if there are any more identifying marks that indicate the foundry or country of origin. FK may indicate something like Franco Kachelofen, but that is just a guess.

These folks up in Canada might have an idea. Let us know if they do.
