I have an Empire Archway 1700, brand new. There is a fan in the bottom that circulates air and blows it into the room. We have an external duct for fresh air into the burner section of the insert.
Even after hours and hours of burning, where the stove is crazy hot, the fan barely ever comes on. With how hot the stove is, I can't imagine how many btu's we are sending up the stack.
I am wondering if the button that senses temperature could be defective, or replaced with a different one? I was also wondering if the button, located on the same side as the fresh air intake, may be being cooled by the fresh air coming in? It's about 25 degree air coming in.
Are there any options for this button?
I wanted to call Empire, but they don't have a phone number on their website. And, they don't show this button in their spare parts diagrams.

This is an SBI stove. It's essentially the same inside as the Drolet Blackcomb II, Escape 1500i, etc. The first thing to check is that the thermal snap switch is pressing firmly against the stove body. Good contact is essential. If it is pressing firmly, then it could just be a bad snap switch. They are inexpensive and the dealer should replace this as part of the warranty.

You might try Drolet support. They are quite responsive.

Yup, same insert. But they don't show the switch on the parts list. I'll call them later today. I did bend the metal tab that holds the switch out a little, then push the fan back in place. It did help for a while, 1/2 the day. then it started acting up again...not running when it should have been. Everything may be OK, but I'm going to replace the switch on the chance it is defective. Thank you !
I wish I would have researched this purchase a little more. I don't like companies like Empire that won't give a phone number to call, it's a little unsettling...like they're telling you NOT to call them, ever! Drolet has three numbers !
