I've searched through H.com and have seen several threads about various log carts/firewood carts, namely (broken link removed to http://www.northlineexpress.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=5CV-WC20) from Northline Express and then the clone/knock-off from Harbor Freight.

I'm wondering if anyone here has tried this one from Amazon for $80. It seems well built and it looks like the pnumatic tires would be pretty tough (and I think no tubes??), plus I like the fact that it has a cover so I could leave it on my deck covered and just grab wood as I need it right out the front or back door.

Most of my stacks are about 100 yards from the Yurt (good sunny/windy spot) and I've been just carrying loads with one of the canvas firewood carriers. But I like the idea of the firewood carrier as it would be easier on my back, I could get a 2-3 day load in one trip, and it would be a nice, non-flammable way to store wood close to the stove. I have 6 steps up to my front porch, and it looks like the tires on the Landmann cart would handle the stairs pretty well, but I'm wondering what others think of these carts. If you have one, are you happy with it? Does it handle stairs well?

Many thanks!!

Hi...I remember reading about this awhile back and a poster here liked it but recommend that you HAVE to tighten up the spokes or it won't hold up long. And yes because of the larger tires it could navigate steps/thresholds etc.

The Amazon cart looks like a nice woodcart to me and the canvas cover is a plus... Free shipping makes it a good deal..

I think you have that backwards. The Northline cart has no tubes, the Amazon cart has tubes. The bigger wheels would be better for handling stairs non-stop, but if you need to stop on each stair, the smaller wheels let you do that. The bigger wheels have a wider stance making them easier to roll and more stable on uneven ground.

It looks to me like the Northline cart has solid rubber tires and the Amazon one probably has tubeless pneumatic tires

I bought my mother (74 years old) the one listed in the Amazon link. I actually bought it from Lowes for $30. Just last week I saw they had one left and had it marked down to $20. I should have bought it and resold it.....

Anyway, I wouldn't say it is a bad cart, but it is not built for hauling loads 100 yards IMHO. For what I paid for it, I think it's a great deal, but I don't think it is worth $80. If I needed to move wood that far, I'd use a garden cart. Fit's a lot more wood and is easy to move. But you won't be able to get it up steps. And yes, the one listed does a good job on steps.

I bought the same one from tsc. I think it works pretty good. In my situation it can hold about a days worth of wood during the winter. In a pinch it beats pulling out my tractor and wagon. Loading the wagon taking it to the garage then unloading it in the house. This way I can wheel the cart into the garage and leave it sit.
