I have a Harmon F200 wood burning insert. The after burner has deteriorated and been removed. On line parts seem to be around $300.00, which I do not currently have in my budget.
My question is, “is it safe to run the stove without the afterburner?”
Stove will be repaired ASAP. Current outdoor temp here is 5 degrees above 0.

If the fireplace it is in was built properly there is no real danger of fire but you could further damage the stove
