Harman TL300 Goldenfire matainence questions!

Hello yall, new here to the group. i live with my mother and she has a Harman TL300 goldenfire and it has been abused with absolutely no TLC.. long story short parents divorced and i wasnt near old enough to know how to service this stuff. im plenty old now and ive got a few questions regarding this stove. it seems the secondary burn chamber has become extremely brittle. the philips screws literally slid out when i tried disassembling. i was able to make indents in it like it was sand...

is this normal?? and if not, where would i be able to find a replacement. thanks a bunch!

Overtime the refractory engine does break down. A new combustion package is not cheap. They're around $650.
