Harman Room Sensor = UGLY !!!

The room sensor that is shipped with my Harman XXV is a bout 5' long wrapped in black and is terminated at the end with an ugly piece of rubber snout thing. Yes, it says to hide the terminus somewhere like behinf a table leg or something. Unrealistic Unless you painted your walls black, this ugly thing is unavoidable, especially since my stove is centrally located in the house as almost the centerpiece between living room, dining room, and kitchen. So, withouth further whinning, does any one know of anyother other sensor that will do the job but not so ugly? Or am I just being too snotty? Thank you in advance. (PS ... I don't want to run the stove in stove mode).

I connected mine to a white t-stat wire ran it along the floor molding, up the corner, along the chair rail behind the china closet, up a window frame, not totally hidden OK but for now, for the money they charge for the stove they should come up with a better idea

I extended mine and fished up through the wall where the oil burner t-stat is located. Drilled a small hole just above the t-stat and brought the probe out. It's pretty discrete and in a great central location so the temp maintains very well. The temp reading on that t-stat never varies more than 1 degree.

For those that don't know, the black wire on the right side is the stoves probe.

I just left mine behind the stove near the air intake.

I could not find a good spot for it where it did not look ugly, so now
it is loosely coiled on the floor near the side/back of the stove.
Seems to work fine there for me.

A tot of paint that matches the background color will likely hide it pretty well. Its amazing how much you can hide with blending colors.

Best location is behind the stove. Gets a better room reading at that location. That ugly thing is a sensor that talks to the board. If you hook up a thermostat Then you might as well run it by stove temp as you have removed all the features of room temp. The sensor is very important to the stove function when in room mode.

Are you sure that is not a uncircumcised mouse’s doo digger poking out?

The black wire is better than the grey one they used to use. Just remember the tip of the sensor is the part that counts so don't have it touch outside walls of have it too close the windows as it will get false readings.
