After my weekly cleaning, the power went out in my Harman Accentra Insert during start up. The pellets dropped into the burnpot and were ignited (Auto ignitor), but then burned out in a few minutes. All the lights on the insert were out. I tried a reset (unplug) but that didn't help. After searching the forum, I speculated that it might be igniter, so I pulled the insert out and inspected all of the wires which looked fine. I replaced the fuse and disconnected the igniter wires, but left it attached. I then put the igniter on manual and plugged it back in. The power light came back on so I turned it on and lit the pellets manually. Its been working great all morning so I believe the problem was the ignitor. I'm waiting to hear from my dealer, so this is a stop gap measure.
My question to you guys is what is the best way to bypass the ignitor if it caused the fuse to blow? Did I have to disconnect the wires? Would setting the ignitor to Manual have sufficed?
thanks
Pat
