I have a fireplace that is 31.5 inches high, 39 inches wide and 21 inches deep. I am interested in buying a Hampton HI300 fireplace insert, but it is only 30 inches high. This would result in a 1 1/2 inch gap at the top. The installer said that the insert has adjustable legs that would allow them to narrow the gap to 3/4 of an inch, and the rest of the gap they would put in a black smoke shroud (I think that is what he called it) to cover it. I am concerned with how this would look. Any thoughts out there or even better does anyone have pics?
Thanks
