Has anyone ever used a H tube chimney cap? What's the pros and cons of them? Any info will be appreciated.

They really do nothing at all and are a pita to clean. I know there are claims that they increase draft but that simply is not true.

I always thought that the purpose was better prevention of draft reversal in high winds. Not so?

Yes they do that but there are many other solutions that arent such a pain.

Manufacturer claims better draft and less down draft. The UK is full with these, but according to @bholler they seem not to be very effective.
We see them on lots of amish and mennonite chimneys here. They are effective in minimising downdrafts which honestly are pretty uncommon anyway. But there is absolutly nothing about the design that would cause an increase in draft. If anything it would do tge opposite.

Some of the clay ones do look cool though. But if you have ever had to clean one it isnt worth it.
