I saw an ad in the local rag from Southern States/Marshall County Co-Op for pellets at $188 per ton. I called and asked what brand. Lady told me American Wood Fiber. Paid and went to load and the guys brought the skid out and when we unwrapped they were Greene Gold from Greene Team in Garrards Fort, PA. Anyone burned the Greene Gold? Premium Hardwood. They at least have the PFI label. I probably can't go too wrong for the price.

If they are "Greene Team Gold", I'm pretty sure they would be good pellets. The regular Greene Team pellets usually get good reviews on here, and the gold are considered to be even better.

Thanks. The sale is on til June 30th. I may try to pick up another before then. Around here, you never know what brands will show up.

The AWF would have been a good pellet too, so if that happens to be the next available, don't hesitate to get them at the $188 price. That is a REALLY good price for both those pellets!

Yes, I had a couple of tons of AWF last season, that is why I jumped at that price. I was getting them at $218 last fall.

Panhandler:
I got 8 ton for last season heat (over now, I hope)
They burn great and are hot....you did not do wrong, especially with your price.
I paid 195.00 a ton from the mill.....
Get them at that price while you can, they are very clean, almost no fines.

Thanks, Devil. The mill is probably at Garrards Fort is probably 50-60 miles from me.

the greene golds are the best pellet that I have burned so far, I live only about 25 min. from them but there is a new plant only 1.3 miles from me that has a decent pellet. would love to split between greene gold and the local plant (tri-state bio-fuels) but greene teams greene gold brand is very hard to come by at a good price. you will love the greene golds and you got one heck of a deal so don't second guess your purchase.

I'm curious if you burned any tri-state pellets and how they compared to greene gold. We sold both brands this year and had mixed reviews.

greene gold is a much better pellet than the tri-state biofuel. I have had some issues with the tri-state biofuels such as clinkers and heavy ash but seems like hit and miss with them as they are within one mile from my home I buy from them often some of the time there pellets burn great good heat low ash other times clinkers galore. I just purchased a ton on 2-14-11 good heat, not great, okay with the ash and most important to me no clinkers, would only buy these if the price was good, as it is because buying right from the plant. these guys are making adjustments all the time to the mix seem to be getting better as time goes by.
