Got this big oak from across the street today and the tree guys said they will drop more on my back driveway when they are up this way.

Good day = free oak!

It cost me 5 minutes of snow removal with my Kubota and 3 cups of coffee. I think it will split up to about 2+ cord

Damn. Im surprised you found such a sweet deal in CT. So many people burn around here most of the tree guys I know sell their good wood as firewood.

Thats how to do it.

Free oak is good and free oak in Connecticut is even better! And about your avatar; my wife loves it! She was standing behind me when I was looking at you post. She likes it because she has a long history of running the Flying Pig Marathon every May in Cincinnati.

Not what I call a big oak but certainly a nice one! Good for you.

I grew up in Ohio and remember big oaks, around here more maple and pine than anything. It is a pretty tall oak. It was leaning way over the garage, I wouldn't have ever tried to do it.

Those guys work cheap. No doughnuts?

Getting some of this home and stacked. Those 8 footers are heavy! I'm guessing 1000 lbs on a couple of them.

My mother in law (who's house is being heated with our boiler also) says haven't you got enough wood already? I told her wood I like money, you never have enough.

Looks like its a blast to drive

It is a nice driver, 351 ford, 9 inch rear, trans and steering from a old mustang, seats from a T bird. It is a hodge podge that came together well, like all old Jeeps. This one drove back and forth to Arizona a couple times and Fla once but it is set up for parades. Flag holes everywhere.

This is a 83 CJ7 with Chevy running gear, 350, turbo 350 etc...
Proposed to my wife in this one in the mountains of Colorado.

Very nice, I'm a huge Jeep enthusiast myself. Awesome to see the old CJ out in the wild! I'm working on building a Cherokee (far from a classic like your Jeeps) at the moment. The rears are finished, 8-lug Dana 44 up front and full float Dana 60 in the rear with an ARB air locker. I'll be keeping the drivetrain stock due to lack of funds haha.
