I want to buy a barrel stove kit- as a backup for my farmhouse.



Answer:

One company that sells barrel kits is listed below. However, please consider that such a stove can burn very dirty and cause smoke and creosote problems. As an emergency backup, this may not come into play.


As more and more folks burned wood in the late 70's- it became a pollution problem. The result was strict standards for how clean a stove must burn. The newer EPA approved units emit 1/10 the smoke of the older stoves- therefore everyone can breathe a little easier.
