I have a Majestic BC36 fireplace. Can I add glass doors to economize wood burning and still maintain heat?

You can, but you will need to go for pyroceramic glass in lieu of tempered glass in the doors. If you attempt to burn with tempered glass doors shut, there is a good chance of that glass exploding due to heat. Pyroceramic glass is very expensive, but will withstand the heat. Search for Stoll Fire place Doors. They should have what you want.
