What if you dump old ash from a pellet stove in the garden or on grass or on snow?
I clean out the ash from the pellet stove and dump it safely in an old 50 gallon drum where it can stay for a month or more. It's safe and the ash is completely out. At the end of the season, do you put it in the garden? Or just dispose of it like regular garbage? Pellet ash looks so fine that I don't see how it can provide traction on snow and ice.
This is not a super important question, as long as I make sure the ash is safe. But the other posts I found are more about avoiding a fire with "new" ash just cleaned out than using the "old" ash. Do people just put ash into the garbage?
