Big red oaks taken down right near my office. Friend with a 36” blade helping. I take it from there with a sledge and two metal wedges to section small enough to get into my truck. He cut last week I’ve picked up two big rounds so far!! Woop woop free free free. And the smell is heavenly!!

Big heat, three years from now.

I would find someone to buy them for saw logs. Those would make beautiful cabinets or furniture

No one wants to buy logs from yards to saw. Too high probability that they contain metal.

I got a 3 ft dia oak log, straight, no knots, 25 ft long or so, no rot. Tropical storm blew it over the road.
The owners tried to sell it for half a year. No one wanted it.

Shame..... I used to think the same here in my neck of the woods. The mills don't want residential wood. Buddy of mine is selling logs now, for the past few years, from the suburbs. They bring good monies.
