I'm in my 10th year of ownership of a FireplaceX 36 Elite and have burned 5-6 cords of hardwood per year for 10 yrs straight now. I've replaced the combustor 3x now and i'm probably due for a 4th next season. I change the outside air filter on the chimney intake annually. I've also replaced the door gaskets twice.
I'm curious what the other wear items are on this fireplace that I can expect to replace in the coming years? I'd really like to see this thing last a lifetime and would like to be proactive (or at least prepared) for necessary replacement parts. I'm tempted to pull all the fire bricks this spring for a more thorough inspection.
