I know the directions say to always shut off the stove before opening the hopper to refill it. But if you open the hopper with the stove running for 15-20 seconds will it have any affect on the stove?

That happened to me last night. I came home from work and the wife had put pellets in the hopper but touched the plastic bag to the front door/glass. Boy does that make a stink. I scraped off what I could and the smell went away after awhile.CanadaClinker said:........I never shut my stove down...but you do have to watch any plastic or synthetic clothes etc. doesn't touch the hot door/glass or you might have a mess to deal with...... cc ;-)
