Upon burning for one week and letting it go out as the temps here in Ohio got north of the 55 degree mark, I let the stove go out, to find that the picutured piece is cracked. It is a very light material in nature. I thought it was concrete at first, but after pushing on it, it is light, and craced all the way through, up and down. Guessing a piece of wood might have gouged it. Need to know:
Is this a safety concern before relighting?
Will this effect burn performance?
Does anyone have a contact phone # for Hearthstone as I cant seem to find one on the Net anywhere?
Any input from you "oh wise ones" is greatly appreciated.
Hopefully this piece can be swaped out easily without removing stone!....hopefully it can wait till spring!
Thanks again all!
Note that pics are shot through the front door lookin at the top underside of the burn box where thermal tubes run horizontally. I was laying on my back with the camera stuck in the main door if that give you a better perspective of the pictures and what we are discussing.
