DOOR GLASS CLEANING (When needed)Cleaning of the glass must only be done when stove is cold. Open the door by lifting the handle. The glass can be cleaned by wiping down the outside and inside of the glass with a dry soft cloth. If the glass has build up that can not be removed with only the cloth, clean the glass using paper towel and a gas appliance glass cleaner, this may be purchased through most dealers. If a gas appliance glass cleaner is not available, use a damp paper towel dipped in fly ash to clean the glass. After the glass has been cleaned use the dry soft cloth to wipe down the outside and inside of the glass.

The doors do open it's the glass that appears to be a solid piece that didnt appear to have a hinge I didn't look at it too much I'll check it out more when so get home.

I will get it open when I get home thanks. Something must be wedged I pulled on it real quick when I unloaded it. Thanks I'll have to print out the manual I just looked at page 10 before. Thank you for your help.

Yeah after seeing the picture it made sense got it mostly cleaned with water and vinegar for now and tested it just to make sure it's working fine. Got it for free with some piping thank you again

Hello
There is an updated control panel with a darker background and updated glass door. The old glass door had rods to hold it together. Also the iron firebrick can look better with a coat of VHT very high temperature 2,000 degree Flat Black header spray paint available at a local auto supply retail outlet.
The outside of the stove can look like new with Stove Bright high temperature Satin Black stove paint that matches the manufacturer paint available at a local stove shop or Online of course. :-)
Below are pics of the Empress FS I am working on. :-)

The enamel finish in good shape. I might paint the fire brick next year. I found a panel cover for $8 plus shipping. Not going to put to much into it as it's going to be into my garage. Looks good man how much was the control panel and is it better then the original one somehow?

Hello
Thanks, the old control panel was no longer increasing the convection blower speeds when increasing the heat level to blow more heat out the front. It happens with this model. The new control is making it work correctly. Also the new panel has a slide switch to select manual or Thermostat Hi / Low or Auto / On / Off operation. :-) Costs only approx. $500.00

Thank you mine is increasing but like I said it gets louder when on the higher settings. Think the bearings are going on that fan. I talked to another person that has the same stove and they didn't know that the fan speed should increase with the heat level. I'm thinking they're control panel isn't working right now.
