I have a Envrio Omega for about 2 seasons and the Agitor is scrapping the pot making a loud scrapping noise. I noticed that on the burn pot on the upper part of the burn pot closest to the glass there is a thick line of build up of hardened ash. It takes about 2 weeks to build up to where it affects the aggitator. I have to take the burn pot out and chizzle and scrape it out. Throw it back in and runs like a champ. I have seen posts about the aggitator having build up and needing to be filed down but not much on the burn pot. Anyone have any experience or ideas on this one. I'm going away for acouple days but will check back monday. thanks in advance

deadeye316,

I just got my Omega 9 days ago, So far no auger noise at all. But I have only burned around 10 bags of pellets with it. So far so good for me. I still haven't opened the door to clean anything yet! I have only used the scrapper rods to clean the heat exchangers.

Search through the older posts, I remember reading where someone had to grind a little off the auger tips . I don't think it was much.

I'm hoping I won't have to do that with mine.

I scraped the pot good yesterday at 3 pm and the noise is back faintly. Does your omega have a small pile of ash on the sides of the burn pot that are visable from the outside. Im thinking it could be the fuel or maybe not enough air.

Maybe, I am using very low ash pellets right now. Turmans 100% Oak. They burn pretty clean. I still haven't opened the door on my stove. I can still see through the glass(there is only a little light grey at the top of the glass). I have setup my stove with a magnehelic guage. It is set to the Enviro specs. .12 to.16 on the 5 setting. I set mine high/ (.16). I wanted to give it 2 weeks on good pellets, But I might start using my cheaper ones this week After I clean the stove.

I looked in the stove and there is very little ash anywhere. Yes some on left and right side. But thats where it drops off to the ash pan.

Maybe there is something else wrong.

When you scraped the burn pot. Was there physical marks from the agitator???
What pellets are you burning?
Do you have any other pellets to try?
Is the ash real hard???
How does your flame look?
When was your stove made?(look on the hopper door for date)

I'm probably not the guy that is going to get you fixed up. Hearthtools has had his longer that me! But I'll try???

I only run my stove on 1 or 2. 1 most of the time. I have it in my living room and cant let it get too hot. I have a new house so the insulation keeps 1st floor at 72 and upstairs 70 in a 1900 sq 2 story.

As for the questions

There are no physical marks on the put it self just the hardened ash at the top lip and some in the bottom pot.

I am burning barefoot. My dads ton isnt burning that good either so it maybe the fuel.

i am buying a some new england brand pellets i think there called this weekend.

It is hard ash that i need to chizzle and scrape hard.

the flame looks good not too big when on 1. One thing is after 1 night half of my glass is blackened which isnt good.

nov 2007. I just had the aggitor replaced in the beginning of the season because the cleaners fell off because of a recalled bar. Also my agitator motor was just replaced. The scrapping noise has been a on going thing.

My dealer doesnt seem to offer much advice other than fuel.

I would try to give it a little more air. My stove is burning a light tan color at all heat settings. Your installer should have set the stove with a magnehelic gauge. My stove is set and runs at .12 on low.

Try to get the burn at least a light brown color. black means you are a little to rich!

Yesterday, My stove started to make the noise. took 14 days for it to start. I notice in the manual it states to check it daily. Clean it weekly, along with the agitator.

I cleaned the stove and scraped and wire brushed the burn pot. No clinkers, Just crusty ash build up!

Noise wasn't that bad but it was there.

Noise is gone after cleaning.

I started to use the not so good pellets now, Will see how long it goes before the noise comes back. Not an issue for me. Stove is in my basement, Can't hear it upstairs!

Just FYI.
