on my enviro empress insert the air intake lever will not move when the stove is hot anybody know why it would do this?

Couple questions:

Is it difficult to move when cold?

How long since the stove's been cleaned?

On the Empress, the damper is a shutter that's behind the left fireback, with a finger that sticks down into the damper lever. If it's difficult to move when cold, then it could be that the shutter is just tightened a bit too much. It may wear in with some use.

If the stove's not been cleaned in a while, you might have the shutter jamming because of the heat expanding it and it's sticking in the track.

Hope this helps.
