did she describe what it is doing , will it run , but not start? is it a "no power at all" or is it a no feed situation , secondly , does she have internet at her house and are you going there tonight? if you are going tonite , im gonna be around for a few hours , log on over there and pm me , let me know what you find when you get there, if tomorrow, try to get there between 10am to 1 pm(eastern) , if you can , then call my shop at 800-245-6489. i will have techs there answering calls during that time. they will help you or answer to me (lol) of course they will help you.

if not , call her and ask my questions above , then i'll answer and you can go and fix it for her. should be able to give you what you need but i need to narow it down first or i'll be writing a book in here

Thanks for the quick reply
She is at work now what she told me was that the lights on the side were on but nothing work..

I will hear from her later tonight or i am going over there in the am..

Do you think it could be the 6 amp fuse inside?

She said she had a power surge protector maybe it wasn't a very good one..

tks for your fast reply chuck

if there were lights then the fuse didnt blow, might just need a reset and be right back working , worst case blown board. best bet is to pop over tomorrow while the tech department is open thats 10-1 eastern. tell whichever tech picks you up that i talked to you and that you need a reset followed by a diagnostic check. check to see if she has a surge protector (not just a power strip) and if she has one make sure its a decent brand with a reset on it or a pop out interrupt. i'd get your info and call from the shop tomorrow but i havent had a day off since thanksgiving and am going to take a break from things this weekend. let me know however if we do not have a reolution to this by monday in which case i will be asking ofr a number to reach you at. i dont think that will be necessary i have a good staff and im sure they will get you and her taken care of.

Mike, I have to say that guys like you, Rod at Hearthtools, and Eric at Kinsman, who are on this board are the BEST!! It's so great to have people who are "in the business" willing to take time to help people who, sometimes, are not even one of their "regular" customers. You guys make this a GREAT forum!!!

Thank you!

Thanks Mac! im sure though that eric and Rod , and many others who do the same would agree, we do this because we wnjoy it, its nice to have a psudo hobby which dovetails in with my career. personally , i have said many times that i "learn" more in here than i "teach" its nice to be complimented, but honestly , im just as happy to be in here as you guys are to have me here. its a great community to be a part of.

cheers, Mike
