Hi all Just wondering if the ignitors in Englander stove could be weak or are they "work or don't work parts. My ignitor glows very hot and red but the burn pot seems to get very full before the pellets start burning good.

the igniters we use heat to approximately 1500F within about 3-4 minutes , the act of ignition is brought on by heat transfer , essentially the more heat concentrated on the pellets in front of the igniter the faster the ignition. the amount of airflow is what determines this, the unit should produce a flame within about 8 minutes on average if it takes longer than this , the igniter may be blocked or simply out of position , time your next lightoff, if the timing is right you should have actual fire by that time, if not , check to ensure that the opening and the gap between the rod and the back of the hole is clear, if still you do not make that 8 minute light off , go through the rear of the stove , loosen the setbolt holding the igniter in place and move it back away from the front of the stove a slight amount and resnug the setbolt ensuring that the tip of the rod stays reasonably centered in the hole. if you are still fighting it at that point call my customer service help line at 800-245-6489 for assistance
