Woke up this morning to the smell of smoke..went downstairs and discovered the stove was out, and had burned back into the hopper a bit.
Took the augers out ..cleaned everything up, tested the motors and everything turned freely. I sanded all the edges of the augers to assure a smooth ride in the tube. Lubed everything up, new gaskets and fired it back up.
Flame was good, augers were working as they should. I let it burn about 15 minutes, went upstairs for dinner and noticed a puff of smoke out the window, went back down and the same thing had happened. Both augers had stopped moving and the bottom feed auger had started to burn back. I quickly emptied the stove and closed the lid back up to stop the draft and let it burn out. the fire did not make it back to the hopper this time but was on its way.
I clean the stove weekly and have never had a problem in 3 years. All new gaskets , burn pot, door, lid, blowers etc...at the beginning of the season. The stove runs 24/7 except for cleaning.
Any ideas?
thanks
