Less than a cord by Feb 1st? I am usually through two by now. Guess I will have plenty for the next two years!

At best I have burned 1/2 cord and just loaded my bulkhead with another 1/4. A friend gave me 3/4 of a cord of two year old hardwood this fall so I really haven't even hit my planned on wood supply. I ran the minisplit up until mid December and still have a MWhr of surplus power for heating. My plowing bill is also pretty darn reasonable so far. Some years if has been over $1000 for the season. This year its looking like a lot less.

About the only downsides are my solar panels put out far more power at low temps and the snow cover is starting to get sparse which cuts down on reflection onto my PV panels which also bumps up output. I can live with both of these My SHW panels only raise my incoming water temp to about 80 F over daytime ambient temps so its still going to be a few weeks before I can take a fully solar heated shower but 110 degree preheat is not too shabby.

I've burned 1 1/2 to 2 cords so far! I'm currently trying to get through the pine and hemlock that I had for the shoulder season. I don't think that it will last another year on the woodpile. We now have a few days of low to mid-50's for the high and mid-40's for lows. It sure is a weird year for weather.....we go from 1 1/2 feet of snow in late January to spring like weather in early February.

I haven't burned a cord yet but might be getting close if I factor in the bricks I've been experimenting with. There were several members lamenting being short-stocked this year for various reasons back in November. Happy to see that those folks lucked out.

Phew I wish oil was going that cheap down here. Last I checked was two weeks ago and it was $2.24/gal

That's pricey.. It's been in the $1.50 range here in NY for months.

Deep into our normal coldest period of the year, 4 more weeks of intense cold to go before spring starts to turn temps around and its 45 deg today, with 40+ temps for the next week.
I have just reached the 1 cord mark for this season. Projecting to use 2 cord for the season.
Sure beats the hell out of last year.

This is crazy. It's after 1:00 am here and I'm awake because of the massive rain, thunder & lightning storm we're having.

Catch is you do not know what company it is until after you place your order and it is COD. I have not had any issues or problems, just good oil prices, and I always get confirmation calls the same day and prompt delivery as if I called them directly. They do NY (Nassau County, Suffolk County and Westchester County), CT, NJ, PA, RI, MD, MA. Worth plugging in your zip code to see what the prices are if you use oil.

Back on topic. Yes, I am still way under my wood usage than I should be at this point, I was a bit short handed this year on dry wood (plenty of oak seasoning), so I'll take it as a blessing. What I have for this year was free, and have been doing mostly evening/spot fires since October.

Probably reached the 1 cord mark over the last two weeks, but I've mostly been burning pine and half-rotted junk. Have used maybe a 1/4 cord of the primo stuff. I was well past the 2 cord mark at this point last year. I burn 24/7. December and January electric bills were $65 bucks. It's a great feeling.

No oil, some LP just a space heater. Now into our 4th cord-- wood heat 24/7 and close to 99% wood all the time.
But it is getting old after so many years with only wood.

With a week like this past one just burning cedar splits to take chill out of the house and then a couple blocks of mulberry for the overnight burn. Sunday is supposed to be fifty.
