Now that spring is coming slowly to Northern Maine, I do not need the boiler to run almost continuously. Currently, I've been making a small fire in the morning and one in the evening. The fire burns quickly to bring the water temp maintains an operating temperature of 180 for a couple of hours and then slowly loses temp. During this time, the fan continues to run until way below 140. Whithin the controller settings, is there a setting I can program to have the fan shutdown so that the fan is not operating for such a long period of time without any apparent benefit?

Which controller do you have? On the newer controller (RK-2001) you can set a boiler min temp at which point the fan will stop. I don't recall what the factory setting is but I typically crank mine up to 170+ to prevent pumping good hot water out of my storage after the fire dies.
If you have an older controller I think a timer may be the best, cheapest solution....

Mt fb30 is set at the factory setting of 30. What is yours set at? I'm assuming your reference to 170 is the L value. I interpreted this setting to control the circulator and not the fan.
