I have installed my DVL pipe and chimney now, I have filled the gap between the collar and adapter with a piece of stove door gasket material, which I assume is an okay thing to do? It made it a snug fit. Now I don’t know how to secure it properly, it covers up the provided holes that would typically be used to screw single wall pipe to the collar all the other joints are screwed together but it doesn’t seem secure enough to me. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I'd screw thru the gasket.

Predrill the tap holes so that the screw doesn't push in and pucker the inner layer.

Okay thanks, so drill holes through both the stove collar and the inner liner of the pipe?
Yes, drill a pilot hole thru both layers.

I'm working through a similar issue. Would it still be advised to screw in the flue collar connector when it is a rear vent with short clearance? My thought is the stove itself will keep the pipe from moving out of position.
Yes, screw it. One large backpuff will provide a convincing demonstration.

When you say backpuff are you referring to a backdraft? @begreen
It's different from a backdraft. It's also known as a puff-back. This occurs when a lot of unburnt smoke accumulates in the firebox from a smoldering fire with no flame. If a small flame suddenly emerges it will ignite the wood gases, sometimes with a mighty Whumph! That small explosion is when one really wants all the stovepipe pieces securely held together. An earthquake is another scenario.
