Drolet modular floor hearth pad ?

I think I've made my mind about the wood stove (Drolet Escape 1800). Looking to find matching hearth pad for the stove. Came across Drolet modular floor hearth pad (something like https://myfireplaceproducts.com/ca_en/54-corner-modular-floor-protection-system-ac02786).

It's half price of stone hearth pad. Any chance someone has experience with these pads?

It's overkill. The 1800 only needs ember protection. A sheet of steel would suffice.

Looks locally for someone that can cut and powder coat sheet metal (16ga).

I was quoted $60 for the size I needed.

Not sure what stores are up in NS near you. One option would be to cut a sheet of plywood, mount some cementboard and tile it. That would be under $100.

I bought enough 14ga sheet metal to make surround for 2 inserts and a 18x40 hearth extension on sheared to my measurements for $40
