I have another thread started about my Lopi Greenfield that the lightning apparently got the control. I'm trying to use it on battery backup without the fan, but it only stays lit for 10 minutes and the flames get blue and it goes out. Does it need the fan to run? I didn't think so. What might be the issue?

Sounds like to have a venting problem.
The blower ON or OFF should not affect burner operation.
Check for a beehive or a bird's nest...

Took all the venting apart. Nothing is stopping or plugging it. Any other suggestions?

When you removed it, did ALL sections feel firmly secured to each other?
If there is a break in the inner (exhaust) pipe, oxygen-depleted exhaust air
entering the combustion air can cause the same issues...
