Nice pictures as always quads. Are all those dead Oaks on your property caused by Oak wilt? I noticed around here many red Oaks are dying and everybody says it's Oak wilt.

Awesome photos, Quads! Your stacks are getting larger!

And, no, I don't whistle in the woods but I have been known to talk to a mouse who seems to reside in my woodpile. :)

I dont whistle while I work, but might fart when no one is around, does that count? :bug:

Yes, mostly oak wilt.

There was a pair of Turkey Vultures setting in a tree in the woods yesterday while I was working. I talked to them and told them I wasn't quite ready yet! I took a picture of one but it wasn't a very good picture.

Only when no one is around? Part of the fun is in the sharing. Well, except maybe for those that are around!

No thanks, then I'd never come back home! Funny you should mention that. A buddy of mine decided his trailer was too small and couldn't haul enough firewood. So he built a big one from an old hay wagon. Now it takes him three or four days to cut enough wood to fill it! I hate hauling a 'half full' load, so if I had a trailer that big....I'd better pack a lunch!

After three+ sets of front teeth whisling became difficult. So I only whistle at Dogs & Pretty Gals! Not many pretty gals in the woods unless I bring 'em.

ATB,
Mike

I never really thought about it but now that you mention it I think I do. But I am more likely to sing (Screech)?

Oh yea its a chainsaw day
We're gonna drop em the chainsaw way
Get em up
Drag em up
Buck em up
We gotta play
With the chainsaw
Today

Billy

ps just made that up

Believe it or not I actually find myself singing to myself when I am really working hard in the woods, thank god I am alone!!!! I don't even realise it most times.

My DH just purchased a Fiskars. I have to start lugging my camera into the woods when we go tree hunting. Boy, I sure hope he can train his Fiskars to stand still long enough for me to get a pic. As for noise in the woods, yes - we both do. However, mine is in the form of prayers especially when I'm on the other end of the rope.

Just make sure you don't tie it around your waist. ;-)

Welcome to the forum YooperWife.

Hum on an exceptionally cheery day sometimes.

It's been a while since the bar on the stihl has been right side up.

I've never been a good whistler and I dare sing only when I am certain others are not around!

Welcome to the forum YooperWife. What part of God's country do you live in?

That's the second chain on that bar. The first chain the bar is right side up, the second chain I turn it upside down. After that I replace it.

The older I get, the more I realize I can't spare any surviving brain cells in my efforts just to stay standing when I'm walking or cutting with chainsaw and gear. So whistling is out!

Nice pics, BTW!

Can't wistle worth a pig's arse to save my life. But there ain't many woods 'round here anyway. I sometimes hum when splitting but only when no one's around.

Peace,
- Sequoia
