Just wondering if most people keep spare parts on hand and what they consist of. I've been stockpiling a few but wonder if it's a wise move since you never know if you'll use 'em.

Since I have the experience of fixing and refurbishing a few pellet stoves, I got a chance to see what parts fail the most.
The Low Limit Switch and the High limit switch seem to fail the most!! So I do have some of those on hand. The $5.50 White Rodgers generic replacements from http://www.pexsupply.com seem to work in most cases. The Quad needed the generic bracket also for $2.20 or I could have got the more expensive OEM swithch from Quadrafire for twice the price and twice the time to get it!
Anyway, I do not keep expensive parts like blowers and augers on hand. I can usually get them in a few days.

Blowers expensive, nah, you just have to look around a bit. and never toss the ones that go bad.
What's expensive is fuel oil.

Oh no doubt on that one He has so much fire power there he can fire up all of his units, open the doors and windows, and raise the temperature in the county by 3-5 degrees
Yeah I'm jealous.
The Other One said:I now have a spare super igniter thanks to a warranty claim that was finally honored by that "ebay" seller. I was going to just get a few of those $20 cartridge heaters from grainger. Thats what I am using now. I also keep some lighter gel and matches around and of course some of this (broken link removed to http://www.all-spec.com/products/82180.html). Works like a charm in a pinch.

Yes, I work in GB and they have had an ignitor and misc gaskets when I needed them.
Of course Dale has a lot more.
The stores that are privately owned aren't as good.
Matter of fact Lena just closed its doors I believe.
