I have a Pacific Energy Super 27 wood burning stove (2010 model). I'd like to put down a black porcelain hex tile (this product: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/an...ch-x-8-inch-hexagon-porcelain-tile/1001387710) as the hearth. I have a new build (concrete slab), and wondering if I can use ditra underlayment (this: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/sc...uncoupling-membrane-54-sq-ft-roll-/1000408405) under the tile and nothing else? It's 2 month old concrete so I want to use the underlayment to let the concrete dry through air circulation and to prevent tile from cracking.

It wouldn't be my choice. The hearth will get warm, especially in front of the stove. How hot, I'm not sure. The slab will act like a big heat sink. My concern is that Ditra is plastic. Check with the manufacturer about max temp for install. Would it be possible to run the stove on the slab for this season and then tile the hearth without the Ditra in the summer?
