I just bought a 1940s craftsman home and have recived 2 quotes for chimney repair/cleaning.
One guy gave me a laundry list of items that need to be completed and the other only recomended a deep cleaning and filling the cracks in the fire box. Do you think parging the smoke box is necessary?
I anticipate we will like around 20 fires/year
